Atlas Gutter Replacement: The Long Beach Owner’s Guide

If you’ve got an Atlas gutter system that’s pulling away, leaking at the seams, or rusting through, we stock replacement sections and can usually get them installed the same week. For most Long Beach homes, replacing a 10-foot section of Atlas gutter runs between $180 and $320 installed, depending on whether it’s standard aluminum or copper and whether we’re also swapping hangers, end caps, or downspout elbows while we’re up there. Homeowners typically notice the problem after a rain, when water spills over one spot instead of running to the downspout, or when a section sags visibly from the ground.

We’re an independent roofing and gutter contractor in Long Beach, not an Atlas dealer or affiliate. What that means for you is we’ll match your existing Atlas profile without pushing a full system replacement you might not need.

Which Atlas Models This Applies To

Atlas produces two main gutter lines that show up on Long Beach homes: the standard K-style profile in 5-inch and 6-inch widths, and a less common half-round profile that appears on some of the older Spanish-style houses in neighborhoods like California Heights and Bluff Park. The 5-inch K-style is by far the most common in Long Beach, and it’s the one we keep stocked on the truck.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha most owners don’t know: Atlas K-style gutters use a slightly different lip profile than the generic box-store aluminum sections, which means a universal replacement section often won’t seat properly into Atlas end caps or hangers without a visible seam or a shim. We measure the lip angle and the width at the top opening before we order or cut, so the new section matches what’s already on the house. If your gutters are more than 15 years old or you can’t find an Atlas stamp anywhere, we’ll match by profile rather than brand, using a quality aluminum section that seats into the existing hangers cleanly.

For most Atlas replacements, OEM sections are fine but aftermarket aluminum from a quality supplier does the same job for 15 to 20 percent less. Where we won’t go aftermarket is on specialty hangers or corner miters, because those have Atlas-specific geometry that generic parts don’t replicate well.

Signs Your Atlas Gutter Replacement Is Failing

  • Sagging or pulling away from the fascia: This usually means the hangers have loosened or the fascia board behind the gutter is rotting. In Long Beach, salt air near Belmont Shore and Naples Island accelerates corrosion on steel hangers, which weaken and let the gutter tilt.
  • Water spilling over the front edge during rain: That’s a pitch or clog problem, but if it happens every time and the gutter is clean, the section itself may be warped from heat. Long Beach summers can make dark-colored aluminum expand and deform, especially on west-facing eaves.
  • Visible rust streaks or pinhole leaks: Once pinholes start in aluminum, they spread. A 20-year-old Atlas gutter near the coast is on borrowed time.
  • Seam separation at the corners or mid-run joints: The factory sealant inside Atlas seams dries out and cracks. You’ll see water dripping from the joint even between rains, and you may notice staining on the fascia below it.
  • Gutter pulling free of the downspout: If the outlet has pulled away, water overflows the outlet hole and runs down the wall instead of the downspout. That ruins stucco fast, and Long Beach has plenty of stucco.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Long Beach, expect to pay $180 to $320 per 10-foot section for installed Atlas-compatible aluminum gutters, standard 5-inch K-style. If your home uses 6-inch commercial-size gutters, the range moves to $220 to $380 per 10 feet. Copper is its own thing entirely: $600 to $900 per section, though we don’t see copper on many Long Beach homes outside of historic districts like Bluff Heights.

The number on your written estimate includes everything: the gutter section, matching hangers, sealant, removal and haul-away of the old section, and caulking any affected fascia. You’ll see the exact dollar amount before we start, and it won’t change once we’re on the roof unless we uncover structural rot that wasn’t visible from the ground, which we’ll show you in photos before touching it. Erik Lindgren made it a rule years ago: a written price before anyone climbs a ladder, that’s where we start. Our workmanship warranty on gutter replacement runs a full year, backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise.

DIY or Call Us?

Gutter replacement is lower-risk than a lot of roofing work, but there’s still a ladder involved and that ladder is up against the edge of your roof. We don’t recommend homeowners do this themselves unless they’re comfortable on a 20-foot ladder with tools in one hand. The inside-the-house side of the job matters too: when we swap a gutter section, we’re walking up to your house and leaning over your roofline, and we want you to know what that looks like. Shoe covers at the door, drop cloths through the hallway if we need to pass through, and all debris cleared and photographed before we leave. If the dog needs to stay inside, we’ll coordinate the door schedule with you.

What an owner can safely do is clean the gutters and watch where water goes during rain. That tells us a lot before we even show up. But matching an Atlas profile, seating it into existing hangers, and getting the pitch right is not a weekend job for a first-timer. If you’d rather have it done once and done right, call (562) 512-7366 and we’ll take a look.
